We’re excited to introduce two new AI-powered features designed to transform the way you interact with your knowledge base and streamline your workflow: AI Knowledge Assistant (AIKA) and the AI Flow Builder.
AIKA brings the power of AI directly into the portal, transforming how you access and use your knowledge base. Here's what it does:
AIKA in the Portal
If the AI functionality is enabled for your instance, you will find this symbol in your portal.

Find Answers Quickly: No more digging through lengthy reports or guides. Simply ask a question, and AIKA will surface the exact information you need from your knowledge base of manufacturing reports and guides.

Leverage Past Solutions: AIKA excels at finding and presenting solutions to problems based on historical reports and guides, helping you solve issues faster.

Generate New Guides and Workflows Effortlessly: Need a new guide or task tailored to a specific situation? The AI Flow Builder helps you create it directly from the insights you uncover. AIKA analyzes both report content and associated comments, ensuring valuable context—like troubleshooting notes, root-cause insights, and resolutions added in comments—is included when generating or referencing new guides.

Save Time and Reduce Errors: Spend less time searching for answers or drafting instructions, allowing you to focus on high-priority tasks while minimizing errors on the front line.

Upload files to AIKA
You can upload files directly to AIKA without the need to create guides first. This makes it easier to ask questions about specific documents or topics.
It’s also a great way to quickly generate new flows or guides from existing documents that cover multiple subjects.
How It Works

Smart Data Processing: AIKA processes your reports and guides, creating compact summaries called “embeddings” that capture their key meaning.

Intelligent Search: When you ask a question, AIKA searches these embeddings to find the most relevant information.

AI-Powered Answers: Using a large language model (LLM), AIKA crafts clear, accurate responses and references the original sources for further reading and fact-checking.

AIKA Permissions
There are 3 levels of permissions available:

- No use of AIKA - No permissions granted
- AIKA with standard guides - AI Functionality permission
- This will enable AIKA for the user in question and allow them to question the AI and return results based on guides found within the Zaptic instance.
- AIKA for all content (guides & reports) - Both AI functionality & AI Reports access permission
- This will enable AIKA for the user in question and allow them to question the AI and return results based on guides and completed reports found within the Zaptic instance.
