What’s AIKA?

- AI Knowledge Assistant (AIKA) - available in the portal - it answers questions from knowledge captured in reports and guides
- AI flow builder - lets you build flows using answers from AIKA
Why it matters
- Find answers quickly: No more digging through lengthy reports or guides. Simply ask a question, and the AI will surface the exact information you need from your knowledge base of manufacturing reports and guides.
- Generate new guides effortlessly: Need a new guide or task tailored to a specific situation? The AI can help you create it directly from the insights you uncover.
- Save Time and Reduce Errors: Spend less time searching for answers or drafting instructions, allowing you to focus on high-priority tasks and minimising errors on the front line.
Your questions answered
Can I control who can use these features?
Yes, you can. A new permission will allow you to control these features on a user level. Anyone with a super user can grant this permission. When this permission is enabled, the features will be accessible in the portal.
How does it work?
The system processes your reports and guides to "read" and understand their meaning.
It creates special data structures called "embeddings" – these are like compact summaries that capture the key information and meaning from each document. These are then stored for easy searching.
When you ask a question, the assistant quickly searches through these embeddings to find the most relevant information.
It uses a powerful AI model, called a large language model (LLM), to craft a clear, accurate answer based on the information it found. It also references the sources for fact-checking and further reading.
What should I do if AIKA is unable to answer my question?
Try phrasing your question a different way - the answers depend on how the knowledge is captured in your guides and reports. For example, instead of LOTO, try asking about lock out tag out.
What are the top tips to get the most out of AIKA?
The biggest tip to get the most out of AIKA is to record solutions to problems in reports. Add a section to the flow that ensures defect resolutions or outcomes of problem-solving are recorded, as these are gold - AIKA is really good at looking how similar problems were solved and surface suggestions.
If such resolutions are recorded in another system, we can help modify the integration to ensure these are recorded in reports.
Does it draw sources from the wider web or other instances?
No, it only uses information stored in guides and reports locally on your instance only.
Is any of our data used to train the AI?
No, none of the data submitted as part of asking or answering questions is used to train the AI models.
What happens after the free period ends?
After the free period ends, you will retain access but your monthly usage will be capped. If you'd like to increase your monthly limit, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
Will this be enabled in the Zaptic app too?
Currently, AIKA is only accessible through the portal. We're planning to extend this to the app and would value your input. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us.
